What are the properties of TPU elastic bands
Oct 06, 2021
TPU elastic band can be used in daily life clothing and apparel, socks, mask belts, and swimsuits. It plays a role in shaping. Including the steering wheel sheath is also useful for TPU elastic bands, so it has a wide range of uses. Then, TPU elastic bands are all What are the performances? Let's take a look.
1. Wear resistance
When the material is often subjected to mechanical effects such as friction, scraping, grinding and frustration during use, the surface will gradually wear out. Therefore, the selection of abrasion of the material is very important. TPU plastic material has excellent wear resistance, more than five times the wear resistance of natural rubber, and is one of the materials chosen for wear-resistant products.
2. Tensile performance
The tensile strength is as high as 70MPa, and the elongation at break can be as high as 1000%.
3. Tearing performance
When the elastomer is applied, the damage caused by the expansion of the crack is called tearing. The tearing strength is the ability of the material to resist tearing; in general, TPU has a higher tear resistance, and the tearing strength is similar to some commonly used ones. The comparison of rubber and plastics is very excellent.
4. Inflection performance
Many plastic materials are prone to fracture under repeated periodic stress. TPU products can maintain good flexural resistance under different environments and are one of the choices of polymer materials.
5. Hydrolysis resistance
TPU has good water resistance under turbidity and will not undergo obvious hydrolysis within 1 to 2 years, especially the polyether series is better. Polyester series will be completely decomposed when soaked in water at 50°C for half a year or soaked at 70°C for 3 weeks or soaked at 100°C for 3 to 4 days. This is one of the reasons why TPU is suitable as an environmentally friendly material. Products that require frequent contact with water. It is recommended to use polyether series.
6. High temperature resistance and oxidation resistance
General plastic materials are prone to oxidation in an environment above 70°C for a long time, and TPU has good oxidation resistance; generally speaking, TPU has a temperature resistance of up to 120°C.
